KNITS + Project Liv
KNITS are proud Supporters of Project Liv! ❤️💛💙
Project Liv is a charity organization founded in my hometown Jakobstad by Nina, a mother who spent countless hours in the hospital with her son Todde during his treatment for leukemia he was diagnosed with at the age of 6. During this challenging time, Nina realized how big oof a difference it made to bring joy and smiles to children with long-term illnesses who spend much of their lives within the sterile walls of hospitals. Over the past 10 years, the organization has grown significantly.
Ninas son Todde is 21 years old today and a member of the Project liv board and actively participating in projects within the charity organization. 🥹
Fun fact: this spring, my sister started working at Project Liv!
Project Liv doesn’t just support the children—they also provide help to families of children with lifelong diagnoses, offer relief to parents in need of extra support, and create special moments for siblings of long-term ill kids.
Last year, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Project Liv to create two knitting patterns, including the Braided Liv Heart. All proceeds from the pattern sales go directly to Project Liv’s work. In December, we were thrilled to donate €100 from pattern sales alone!
These patterns were primarily created for Project Liv’s volunteer knitters, who use their skills to bring warmth and comfort to those in need. If you’d like to join their incredible team of volunteer knitters, you’ll receive the patterns for free. They also have patterns for socks and other items you can knit for Project Liv’s beneficiaries.
Interested in becoming a volunteer knitter? Contact my sister Carola at carola@projectliv.fi for more information. ❤️
